Check Out This Cool Dancing Dragon Made with Maya & UE5

This dragon knows the moves.

Take a look at this fun animation of a dancing dragon showcased by 3D Animator Alexey Petryaev.

In the beginning, the setup looks like a regular scene from Jurassic Park, and the creature looks terrifying and frightening. However, in a few seconds, the mood suddenly changes, and the dragon demonstrates some top-notch dancing moves, getting in the rhythm of upbeat music.

The artist showcased a high level of professional skills, as the complex dance moves look diverse and appealing. The lifelike dust visualization was made with Houdini, animation was created in Maya, and the entire artwork was rendered in Unreal Engine 5. The artist also shared a free Rural Australia asset by Andrew Svanberg Hamilton, along with a Free Dragon rig by David Llopis and a model by Angel Gabriel Díaz Romero.

Also, check out our interview with Senior Creature Artist Nicolas Morel, who talked to us about the Cave Dragon project, explaining how the creature was sculpted in ZBrush, hand-painted in Mari, and rendered with Arnold:

Another appealing dragon-themed artwork is this adorable 3D recreation by Alexandre Mougenot, Lead 3D Character Artist at TAT Production:
