Fan-Made Project Revives CliffyB’s First-Person Shooter, LawBreakers

"Lawbreakers is rising from the ashes. Kinda like...a Fenix."

Cliff Bleszinski, creator of the Gears of War series, recently announced the resurgence of his first-person shooter game, LawBreakers. Thanks to an unofficial fan-made launcher, the game is playable again, marking its first return to the gaming world in six years.

LawBreakers, developed by Boss Key Productions, a company Bleszinski started after leaving Epic Games in 2012, was taken offline in 2018, one year after it was launched. Despite receiving positive reviews, the game had a low number of players, leading to the dissolution of Boss Key Productions the same year.

Bleszinski expressed his eagerness to resurrect LawBreakers in a tweet last year. However, this plan was complicated by the fact that Nexon, the game's original publisher, still held the rights to the game.

In a subsequent tweet, he intriguingly revealed that a message from his lawyer had finally given him the green light to tease some upcoming news about the game: "Stay tuned." Fast forward to a year later, and the game has made a triumphant 'resurrection'. As he stated:

The test for the fan-made LawBreakers project was live-streamed recently, and the footage can be viewed here. If you are eager to re-engage with the game, you can join the discussion on the dedicated Discord channel.
