Introducing new Shifter templates, a production-ready Data Collector, and several bug fixes.
mGear, the open-source rigging and animation framework, has been updated with new releases for both mGear for Maya and ueGear for Unreal Engine. mGear 5.0 Beta 6 and ueGear 1.0 Beta (currently supporting only Unreal Engine 5.3) are now available, introducing new features and numerous fixed issues.
Alongside Maya 2026 support, mGear brings updates to Shifter. The Python wrapper now replaces pyMEL, removing the dependency. New Shifter templates have been added, non-reset rotation joints are now supported, and the Data Collector is now production-ready with the "Experimental" label removed from the UI.
