Lincoln Margison showcased his Epic MegaGrant application.
Lincoln Margison, whose incredible tutorials we've previously shared, has been researching procedural animation for quite a while. He recently shared an introductory video for MotionRig, a project he submitted for an Epic MegaGrant to support its development.
Essentially, this is a setup tool for Control Rig rather than a completely standalone application. As Lincoln explained, it's similar to what the Modular Rigging tools do, combining different Control Rigs. However, instead of rigging a character for hand animation, it focuses on rigging motion and behavior for runtime. You can think of it as a library/configurator that provides the essential building blocks, ready to be used and combined, with the flexibility to edit as needed.
Motion Rig will most likely be released on Fab, though Lincoln's long-term goal is for it to eventually be integrated directly into the engine.
