Silent Hill 2 was announced back in October 2022 by Konami who promised to ship a revamped version of James Sunderland's tale that would feature enhanced visuals that intensify the eerie atmosphere of the town. The publisher shared earlier that the game would introduce fresh gameplay elements like an over-the-shoulder camera, along with an innovative combat system that guarantees a more immersive experience compared to the original. Later on, in March, the developer behind the game, Bloober Team, provided some more information saying that the game was "technically ready" but wasn't completely finished

Since then, there hasn't been much shared making fans wonder if the game got cancelled at all. It seems that the developer heard the rumors and decided to step forward to deny them, assuring players that the production is still on track.

"On behalf of our development team, we would like to clarify that the production is progressing smoothly and in accordance with our schedule. We understand that many players around the world are eagerly anticipating news about the game, and we appreciate your dedication. However, we kindly ask for a bit more patience. Once Konami, as the game's publisher, shares more information, we are confident that the wait will be worthwhile," shared Bloober Team.

On Twitter last week, the studio addressed a fan's query by stating, "Konami is the publisher of the game and communication is definitely part of their job." Essentially, the studio is implying that fans should await updates from Konami.

We hope that Konami will soon provide us with updates about the game. The publisher's attempt to revive the series with the choose-your-own multiplayer adventure, Silent Hill Ascension, was met with a negative response upon its debut. However, the company is still working on several other Silent Hill projects, including an upcoming remake. So, hopefully, they will rehabilitate themselves.
