Even the model's wireframe is a work of art.
Graeme Chegwidden, a seasoned 3D Artist known online as OzyrisDigital, has made a triumphant return to the artistic scene after a one-year hiatus, presenting what can only be described as one of the cleanest and most detailed hard-surface CG mechanical models ever created.
For context, nearly a year ago, Graeme shared a WIP look at CrowBot, a digital mech model depicting a mechanical version of a real-life bird. Designed in Blender without kitbashing, an early version of CrowBot was unveiled through a series of detailed renders, along with some walk cycle animations shared by the artist on ArtStation. Below, you'll find some of the stills Graeme shared in 2023:
Following the initial showcases, the author took a lengthy break, leaving the project's state up in the air with the lack of updates. However, everything changed when Graeme took to Reddit to announce his comeback by showcasing an upgraded model, depicted in the video above.
According to the artist, work has now resumed, with fixes and tests underway before tackling the mechanical creature's wings. Additionally, the author shared a couple of behind-the-scenes shots that are so immaculate they could be considered works of art themselves:
