Try the Demo of This Side-Scrolling Shelter Survival Game Set in 80's Texas

Can you make your way to the rumored safety zone?

Zombie survival horror lovers might be thrilled to try out the demo of Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, an upcoming title by New Zealand-based studio PikPok.

In this side-scrolling shelter survival game, which takes place in Texas’ Walton City of 1980, a metropolis that has now turned into a zombie world, you will lead the survivors to build and upgrade hideouts to be sheltered from hoards of zombies. “Craft weapons, scavenge resources, balance your group’s needs, and try to get everyone out of danger alive.”

Pay attention to the members’ mental and physical needs as they become increasingly scared and paranoid. You might want to be extra careful and stealthy while searching, exploring, and looking for resources, as any noise can gather the zombies from everywhere. Thanks to the keyhole, you can glimpse the next room and see if there is any undead hidden in the dark — get yourself ready for bloody combat when you decide to approach.

Before heading to Steam to download the demo, check out the footage below that showcases the game’s immersive atmosphere, 80’s aesthetic, and apocalyptic vibes:

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days will be released in Early Access on Steam in 2025. When downloading the demo, remember to add it to your wishlist so you’ll be notified when the game launches.
