Powered by Geometry Script, Ayoub Attache's new setup makes it much easier to apply imperfections.
Ayoub Attache, a talented Unreal Engine Specialist whose amazing projects impressed us on more than one occasion, has recently previewed his latest procedural generator made in Unreal Engine 5, offering a glimpse of its capabilities.
Powered by the engine's Geometry Script, a neat plug-in for UE5 that provides the ability to generate and edit mesh geometry via Blueprints and Python, the new setup simplifies the process of making your 3D models imperfect by allowing you to apply lifelike chipping, wear, and damage on the edges. The generator lets its user adjust edge wear noise, depth, and size, apply damage to single meshes or complex objects without breaking them apart, and automatically assign materials to damaged areas.
As it stands, the tool is still WIP, with the artist aiming to refine and improve it based on the community's feedback. Unfortunately, it is still uncertain whether or not the generator will be released upon completion.
In the past, Ayoub also wowed us with...:
A tool for wrapping chains around any 3D model:
And a system for interacting with a music player UI using hand motions:
