Despite scathing reviews from critics and many fans having their doubts because of the first trailer, which received widespread criticism back in the day, A Minecraft Movie launched last week to thunderous applause, quickly becoming beloved by audiences and raking in over $300 million in its opening weekend, making it the third-highest-grossing film of 2025 within just a few days.
To celebrate the movie's fantastic reception, Senior Concept Artist and Art Director Karl Lindberg came forward to offer a closer look at some of the 3D mob models from the film, including the llama, Piglin queen Malgosha, and the memetic sheep with different wool colors. As Lindberg noted, he worked with the Wētā Dev team to create the models and used a combination of ZBrush, KeyShot, and Photoshop.
