A Developer is Recreating Bloodborne in Unreal Engine 5

Maxime Foulquier shared a look at the UE5-powered recreation of the original game's Central Yharnam location.

"If you want something done, do it yourself," thought to himself 3D Artist and Game Developer Maxime Foulquier, announcing that he is working on an Unreal Engine 5-powered recreation of FromSoftware's Bloodborne, planning to remake the entire game from scratch.

In a short teaser trailer released a couple of days ago, the developer shared a look at the UE5-powered recreation of the original game's Central Yharnam, set up by Maxime using nothing but hand-made assets created with Blender and Substance 3D Painter. Since some people doubted that those assets were indeed hand-made, the developer also shared a sizeable collection of renders and behind-the-scenes materials on his ArtStation page, demonstrating how the trailer's props and the character model were made.

Some of you may also remember Maxime as one of the developers behind Bloody Doctor, an upcoming isometric RPG set in a plague-ridden city. If you would like to learn more about Bloody Doctor, we recommend checking out our interview with the developers, who talked about the game's fantasy world, discussed organ extraction and other gameplay mechanics, and spoke about setting up the animations.

We highly encourage you to follow Maxime on Twitter so as not to miss any future updates on UE5-powered Bloodborne.
