A Relaxing & Cozy Story-Driven Exploration Game Set In A Norse-Inspired, Tiny Open World

You can download the demo version of VORON from Steam.

VORON is an upcoming story-rich adventure game where you are a raven whose task is to guide lost souls to find their new home by flying across a Norse-inspired, tiny open world.

VORON is the debut project by the solo developer Merk Games. The overall vibe of the game is relaxing and cozy, and there is no health bar to worry about dropping stamina. Fly through various scenes, hide from obstacles, communicate with fellows by croaking, and perform some aerobatics movements. If you fall into the water, a swirl of wind will save you and lift you up to a safe place. The story has been inspired by Norse mythology, and the developer teases that the game will “offer an unusual perspective on life and death.”

But it’s not completely free of conflicts in the world of VORON. There are dangers around, like a small enemy that is showcased in the clip below, who will be the very enemy spirit to be encountered in your journey. It’ll fly ahead of you to block your way and produce smoke to disturb your vision or even spawn a huge smoke screen that totally darkens the environment.

Merk Games has been posting about the progress of the development. The footage helps us learn more about the levels of VORON, flying animation, and mechanics:

VORON is listed on Steam, and there is a demo version for those who want to try it out. The game is still in development, so if you have any feedback, feel free to share it with the solo developer
