Maxime Jouniot, a Technical Artist with expertise in both 2D and 3D techniques, has fused his two passions into one stunning creation, showcasing an amazing NPR animation of a girl made up of both two- and three-dimensional elements.
According to Maxime, the entire sequence was created in Blender, with the artist leveraging the Grease Pencil tool to handle the 2D elements, namely the character herself, and Cloth simulations for the 3D aspects – the character's outfit. Angle also plays a key role in this artwork, as revealed by the artist in a separate behind-the-scenes demo, offering a deeper look at how this dimension-shifting masterpiece came to life:
