A Stylized Animation Made With the Stable Diffusion Add-On for Blender

Digital Artist KDAWG tested out Carson Katri's recently-released add-on that adds Stable Diffusion's text-to-image capabilities to Blender.

In case you missed it, around a week ago, Developer Carson Katri released Dream Textures, a new Blender plug-in that adds Stable Diffusion's text-to-image capabilities to the software, allowing one to create textures, concept art, background assets, and more with a simple text prompt directly in Blender. Upon release, the add-on interested many Blender Artists from all over the world, encouraging them to experiment with it and push its abilities to the limit.

One such artist, known only as KDAWG, decided to use the add-on to create not just a static picture, but a painterly style animation instead, utilizing Dream Textures to turn barebones spheres into rolling oranges. According to the artist, the animation itself was made using a usual workflow in Blender and then given the stylized looks using the plug-in.

Aside from creating stylized animations, the plug-in can also help you to quickly create variations on an existing texture, experiment with AI image generation, and run the models on your machine to iterate without slowdowns. What's more, with Dream Textures, you can also create seamless tileable textures using the Seamless option provided by the add-on. You can learn more about it here.
