Assassin's Creed Mirage Is Only Around 20 Hours Long

It's much shorter than the previous titles even if you're a completionist.

If there is something I've heard consistently about the Assassin's Creed games in the past years, it's that they are long: fully completing the relatively recent Odyssey and Valhalla requires about 100 hours of your time if you're into side quests.

Well, the upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage is much more merciful, according to Ubisoft lead producer Fabian Salomon, and can be finished in about 20 hours (30 if you want to get all your tasks done.)

“Given that we do a lot of playtesting internally at Ubisoft, it’s part of our process, we really want to get as close as possible to the players, so we’ll say that the latest playtimes we’ve received average at around 20-23 hours,” Salomon told YouTuber Julien Chièze (via PCGamesN). “That can go up to 25-30 hours for the completionists, and we’ll say that those who will be rushing the game will be around 20 hours.”

It looks like Ubisoft is going back to its roots and first games in the series, at least in this regard. Who knows, maybe we'll get some more flashbacks when Mirage comes out on October 12. The game is going to take place in ninth-century Baghdad (an already much smaller area than before) following Basim Ibn Ishaq.

What won't make you think of earlier games is a little (huge) detail the ESRB rating for Mirage revealed a couple of weeks ago – Basim will be able to kill fellow assassins.

The fact that Mirage is relatively short is probably a good thing. It might guide Ubisoft to new prospects and ideas in game-making or just help players find time for all those games that are expected in October.
