Billy Lundevall Reveals the Backstage of Quixel SUITE 2

The artist celebrated the toolset's official retirement by providing a closer look at its brushes, materials, and unimplemented conceptual features.

Lead Artist at Quixel/Epic Games Billy Lundevall has recently celebrated the official retirement of Quixel SUITE 2 with a sizeable ArtStation post, providing a behind-the-scenes look at its features, materials, and more.

The newly-released gallery shared by Lundevall showcases SUITE 2's base and smart materials, brushes, masking patterns, and even some unimplemented conceptual features that the artist came up with while working on the toolset. Additionally, the author spoke about the application's development, discussing the creation of its usable content, the QA behind it, and more.

"I was responsible for most usable content within Quixel Suite 2, including the materials, Smart Materials, Masking Patterns, brushes, etc.," commented Lundevall. "Some of the base stuff was made from scratch, some based on early prototype Megascans, some scanned by me, and some not. But in the end, nothing in there went untouched by me."

"I also did extensive QA on the tool and conceptually created many of the features that made it in and many that never did," the artist continued. "All of them were ultimately programmed by Teddy Bergsman, of course."

We highly encourage you to check out the artist's original post to see more materials and learn more about the now-retired SUITE 2.
