It's been nearly one year and a half since we first covered D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict, an upcoming Command & Conquer-inspired game with stunning graphics. Game development has continued during this period, and we can't wait to bring you the latest updates, including its new features, graphics, and animations.
If you miss our introductory article about the game, you will build massive factories, refineries, and defensive structures, advance your economy, and try to get all the power you can. You will also construct and control powerful armies, create trench networks, establish transport routes, and storm enemy bases to loot their technologies to enhance your own.
Infrastructure is a crucial part of the game, and that's the primary focus of the indie developer DORFteam. With the recently shared GIFs, we can have a further look at the impressive animations of oil fields, salvage operations, power plants, and more:
A few more gifs showcase the game's unique environment, which includes a swamp and the ruins of an ancient world.
The game also boasts a delicately designed lighting system, giving the vehicles, buildings, and soldiers reliable shadows:
The developer has shared a timelapse video demonstrating the process of creating a scene with the game's Map Editor. They also teased new features that will be added in the future, such as a cliff painting tool and a separate tool for painting vegetation.
So far, the game is still in development, and there isn't a release window yet. But you can add it to your Steam wishlist or support the game's development on Patreon.
