The artwork was made by Michiro Ito using Blender.
Michiro Ito, a talented 3D Artist and Illustrator, has recently paid tribute to Tove Jansson's iconic Moomins books, showcasing a stunning 3D artwork based on one of the original Moomins illustrations drawn by Jansson herself.
Perfectly translating the writer's hatching-like art style to 3D, Michiro recreated the drawing from Moominland Midwinter, a darker and more serious chapter in the series exploring Moomintroll's predicament of being unable to return to his winter hibernation after an unexpected awakening. According to the artist, the illustration was recreated 100% in Blender, a free and open-source 3D software for modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, and VFX.
