Explore a Haunted Shapeshifting Hotel in This New Backrooms-Inspired Game

The newly announced ATTA – Spot the Oddities in the Strange Hotel is set to launch later this month.

Indie game developer IDEA FRUITION has recently shared an official announcement trailer for ATTA – Spot the Oddities in the Strange Hotel, a new fear-inducing horror taking place in the haunted halls of a shapeshifting hotel.

Taking inspiration from Backrooms and KOTAKE CREATE's The Exit 8, the game lets players explore a chilling, ever-changing environment that masterfully combines the terror of liminal spaces with other genre-defining elements.

The gameplay loop in ATTA is rather simple. First, you must remember the details of paintings, lamps, door colors, and other intricacies on the first floor. Then, you take the elevator to the next floor, count the changes, and input the number of mistakes into the elevator. Returning to the first floor signifies victory.

As you progress, the transformations you'll witness will become progressively more unsettling, reaching an apotheosis with truly paranormal 1408-meets-NoEnd-House-creepypasta events that may even result in typically fatal injuries, which the player character can easily recover from upon awakening in the enigmatic Room 1028

According to the developer, the game is set to be released in just a few weeks, on February 27, 2024. You can learn more and wishlist the game on Steam.
