The Solo Developer behind Over Jump Rally also reveals plans for the release platforms, game modes, camera angles, and more.
Time flies, and it's been three years since we first covered Over Jump Rally back in 2022, presenting its very first gameplay trailer. Thanks to a recent X/Twitter trendy topic, "How do people describe our game," we're now able to see how the game has evolved over time. More importantly, Solo Game Developer Alessandro Schiassi has revealed more plans for it regarding the release platforms, game modes, camera angles, and more.
As written in the post, this upcoming indie aims to become the next-gen of the 1994 racing game Sega Rally. It has been developed taking advantage of Unreal Engine 5 and its Lumen and Nanite tools, "refreshing the graphics to today's standards while keeping the same arcade driving style," says Bonsai Rosso.
The community's anticipation of getting their hands on the game has accumulated over time. They have lots of questions about this game that have been answered by the developer. For example, it's revealed that besides coming to PC via Steam, it's also planned to release it on consoles like Xbox. Besides the first-person mode that makes the experience immersive, a third-person perspective is also available, with a few more camera angles on the way.
If you're into fierce competition and enjoy beating, the full game will also have AI cars on the track, which you can overtake. Also, VR support is a much-demanded feature, and the developer said that UEVR is already in the works, and native VR support is coming later.
Over Jump Rally is surely becoming increasingly promising and enriched with new mechanics and features. If you love racing games and miss the authentic arcade racing experience back in the 90s, don't hesitate to add the game to your wishlist on Steam to be notified when it's available.
