Musician Woodkid Reimagined in 3D With a Photorealistic Portrait

Ian Spriggs unveiled a new 3D character that looks like a real-life photo.

Renowned for his photorealistic portraits, 3D Character Artist Ian Spriggs continues to solidify his position as one of the greatest contemporary artists with one more digital masterpiece that heavily resembles a genuine real-life photograph.

Ian's new portrait captures the likeness of Yoann Lemoine, an acclaimed French musician, songwriter, composer, and producer known professionally as Woodkid. According to Ian, he's been following Woodkid's career for quite some time now and recently got a chance to spend time with the musician, giving Ian the opportunity to recreate Woodkid in the digital realm.

As for the production process itself, Ian employed his usual combination of 3D software, using Autodesk Maya for modeling and Mudbox for texturing. For rendering, he relied on Chaos' V-Ray, and for final touch-ups, he utilized Adobe Photoshop.

And here are some of the artist's earlier works, you can see more of Ian's awesome projects by visiting the artist's official websiteTwitter, and Instagram:
