KOOK might receive a demo version later this year.
It's been exactly a year since we covered KOOK, a fast-paced, Quake-style retro FPS in a Victorian-era steampunk setting. Recently, the new trendy topic "How do people describe your game?" has brought this upcoming indie to our eyesight again. This time, with more surprises and excitement.
If you missed the earlier article, KOOK offers nostalgic low poly graphics enhanced by modern rendering tech like real-time lighting and self-shadowing textures. It drops you into the fascinating world of distorted time and gravity and takes on the role of a madman, or kook, who has nothing to lose. "Insane cultists and Lovecraftian horrors lurk around every corner and must be eliminated."
Developer jitspoe has been actively sharing gameplay footage to show the development progress, giving us chances to learn about the game's features, combats, weapons, environments, and more:
The newly shared clips have made more gamers want to experience the game with their hands, and jitspoe revealed that they're working on more levels and content before it's ready to be released.
Meanwhile, they're working hard to release a demo version later this year, so it's great news for those eagerly waiting. For now, the game targets a PC release via Steam, but they will bring it to consoles when the opportunity arrives.
