Realistic Raindrop Simulation Made in Blender Cycles

CG Artist and Blender enthusiast OfNodesAndNoodles, known to many as the developer of the Rain.Water plug-in, showcased an absolutely marvelous project that demonstrated the capabilities of the aforementioned add-on. This time, the artist has presented an extremely realistic raindrop simulation that boasts lifelike displaced ripples and refraction and is set up in Blender Cycles. According to the author, the simulation consists of a single plane and a single material.

For those unaware, Rain.Water is a shader node system for Blender that can create fully procedural water and volumetric raindrops from simple geometry without using particle systems, fluid simulations, or Geometry Nodes.
