Sanctus Previews New Procedural Tools For Making Papers & Handwriting

Coming to Sanctus Library by the end of the month.

Digital Artist Sanctus continues turning Sanctus Library into the ultimate procedural toolset for Blender, offering a preview of a couple of exciting new Geometry Nodes-powered generators that will soon be added to the collection.

As showcased in the demo, Sanctus' new tools allow users to create highly realistic notebook pages and customize them in various ways, including adjusting margins, choosing between ruled or squared paper, altering the number, size, and placement of holes, adding edge burns, and even applying a slight crumple effect using a procedural Height Map.

Moreover, the tools allow one to add hand-written text – also highly customizable – to the pages, an ability also achieved thanks to Geometry Nodes. According to the artist, the update featuring the showcased capabilities is slated to launch by the end of the month.

"There are several different variations and patterns," said Sanctus when asked about the different paper types the generator can create. "The thickness is something you will control in the object where you use the material. Translucency is shown in a moment with a light on the back of a paper. The pile of paper will also depend on what you use as instances in a collection, you can have multiple different papers. The writing is Geometry Nodes and can be used on a plane to add dynamic text with different inks."

Earlier this month, the maestro also presented Sanctus Liquid Works, an entirely new collection featuring over 130 procedural liquid materials and Geometry Nodes generators. The liquid materials cover almost all the liquids of different viscosity and textures, like juice, milk, sap, potion, coffee, beer, mustard, foam, slime, and more.

The pack also offers generators in addition to the materials, which allow you to create perfect liquid simulations and renders, such as sparkling animation and procedural condensation, simply by dragging the effect to the object to apply it.
