It's a next-gen game after all.

There are some players who can't fully enjoy Bethesda's latest hit Starfield due to performance issues on PC. While they might be angry with the studio, Todd Howard doesn't think the game is to blame.
When asked why Starfield isn't optimized in a recent interview with Bloomberg, he said that the team did optimize it, but maybe you just need to upgrade your system.
"It's running great. It's a next-gen PC game, we really do push the technology. So, you may need to upgrade your PC for this game, but it's got a lot of great stuff going on in it, and the fans are responding awesome."
This answer didn't please fans too much as some of them reported performance issues on GeForce RTX 4090, AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, and other relatively powerful GPUs with settings lower than maximum.
Then again, as someone noted, it's not all about your GPU, the whole system is responsible for how the game runs. Many players haven't experienced any issues at all. I guess we come back to an obvious question: "Should you get a new PC for Starfield?"
