Raphael Lacoste demonstrated a new large-scale scene made with 3ds Max.
Immerse yourself in a medieval, fantasy atmosphere by taking a look at Valley of the Wind, a breathtaking large-scale 3D environment created by Raphael Lacoste, a former Art Director for Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia franchises and an immensely talented Illustrator and Matte Painter.
Inspired by the animated masterpieces of Hayao Miyazaki and the iconic Kakariko Village from The Legend of Zelda, the scene has been in development since last year, when Raphael prepared the initial sketches, and completed over the recent weekends, with the artist "taking advantage of bad weather." As for the software, the creator employed a combination of 3ds Max and Photoshop to set up the piece.
"As an Art Director, I have so many meetings that it is impossible for me to work in Photoshop during the week, my weekends are my creative hands-on moments," commented Raphael.
