Gnomon has recently published an in-depth two-hour-long breakdown, offering a comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at Awolnation’s Beds are Burning music video and explaining how its stunning stylized visuals were made.

In this breakdown, 3D Artist Jason Michael Hall, who was in charge of creating an animated version of lead singer Aaron Bruno dancing in a synthwave-retro-Miami-style video, provided a thorough overview of the texturing and shader-creation processes, explained how to implement and modify motion capture data in Blender, talked about creating interesting graphic visuals using simple tools like primitives, modifiers and UVs and some of the Eevee's native Light Probe effects, and more. You can check out the full breakdown attached below or by visiting Gnomon's YouTube page.
