Setting Up a Pine Branch Card in Blender Geometry Nodes For SpeedTree

Will Kosan put an extra spin on Ryan King's branch-making technique.

Senior Environment/Level Artist Will Kosan has recently put an extra spin on Ryan King's technique for creating digital pine tree branches, expanding on the approach to build a pine branch card that can be used in SpeedTree.

According to the creator, the nodes reference a handmade leaf mesh that can be adjusted live to modify the appearance of the branches, allowing users to create custom pine trees in SpeedTree. As in the original tutorial, the setup is built using Blender's Geometry Nodes, with Will noting that Ryan's approach served as the foundation for the node network.
