"Giant creatures are great after all."
If you love giant creatures in video games, solo game developer Drainage’s WIP project is definitely something you’ll be surprised at.
Temporarily called YouCanNotAccess, this is a 2D Metroidvania game made with Unity. It invites players to explore a vast ecosystem and a devastated world while encountering tons of giant creatures.
The giant creature showcased in the clip above consists of 33 parts. Twenty-two of them are for legs, three for the torso and head, four for the exhaust pipe, and four for others. The player-controlled character could jump onto it and climb up as it moves on two heavy claws.
It’s been around six months since the developer joined X/Twitter to share game development clips, which have over 60 volumes for now. They give us deeper looks into the game’s mechanics, features, levels, immersive environments, UI design, and soundtrack, besides, of course, the combats with various giant creatures:
Although the game looks quite polished with lots of details implemented, the solo developer revealed that it is still in early development and doesn’t have a Steam page to wishlist or an anticipated release window yet. The art style is definitely a W for me, and although its story has not yet been revealed, the lighting of various immersive scenes and the music have already been indulging.
