Celebrate Persuasion Wheel from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion in This Game Jam

All hail the wheel!

Players can sometimes obsess over the strangest things, and the glorious persuasion wheel from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion has occupied many people's minds since its release, and now you can worship it in WHEELJAM.

This game jam asks you to create a title that uses this mechanic in any way: as a conversation element, a battle system, or whatever else you can think of.

"We're celebrating the silliness of the Persuasion mechanic from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and the unreleased Strange Scaffold game, Bass Reeves Can't Die."

From March 13 to March 20 – the 19th anniversary of Oblivion's launch – submit your project and get a chance to win custom 3D-printed Oblivion wheels.

There are 3 categories to compete in: Hotwheels – for the smoothest, most optimized, and beautiful wheels, Reinvent the Wheel – for unusual implementations, and Put the We in Wheel – if you can put several wheels in your project.

Here are the rules:

  • Your game must have a wheel
    • Feel free to iterate on the original persuasion-puzzle concept or abstract your wheel into something entirely new!  If your wheel recognizably derived from the Oblivion wheel in any way, shape, or form, it is fair game.
  • External packages are allowed as long as you follow their licensing rules.
  • Don't be a jerk.  Racism, transphobia, or bigotry of any form will not be tolerated.
  • If you'd like to make a game with both wheel and NSFW elements, please reach out to the mod team ahead of time.
  • No AI-generated assets.

If you feel ready for the wheel, you can use the provided Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot templates solo or with other talented minds.

The templates and all the information you need can be found on this page.
