Do you want to see every little detail from any angle in your Substance 3D Painter project? Michael Tanzillo, Head of 3D Technical Artists at Substance 3D, knows how to do it in AR using Apple's Vision Pro.

In his post on X/Twitter, he shares the steps to make your 3D model appear in front of you so you can take it for a spin. Here is what you need to do:

  1. Open your Painter file
  2. Export that file as a USDZ
  3. On a Mac device connected to your Apple Vision Pro share the USDZ file
  4. It immediately opens in your virtual space and you can immediately interact with it!
  5. Spin away!

Tanzillo promised a full tutorial in the future, but for now, enjoy the sight of your masterpiece in AR.

Vision Pro was released this month, and you might have seen some videos of people using it for all kinds of purposes, like working (of course) and playing Starfield, PUBG Mobile, Cyberpunk 2077, League of Legends, and other games. I'm sure they have fun, although it looks a little strange from the outside

Developers can already create experiences for Vision Pro with Unity, and Unreal Engine should get on the board soon as well.
