Stylized 3D Character Model With Hand-Painted Textures

Made by Clara Bouis using ZBrush, Maya, and Marmoset Toolbag.

Clara "Louarna" Bouis, an aspiring 3D Character Artist and student at the New3dge school has presented Amr ibn al-As, an impressive NPR 3D character model that can almost be mistaken for a 2D painting, created as part of the school's Stylized Character Sculpt course.

Based on Captain Leoi's illustration, the model was sculpted and painted entirely in ZBrush, with Marmoset Toolbag used to handle rendering. Additionally, the artist employed Maya to retopologize the character to get a cleaner real-time render and practice at retopology. "I loved working on all these drapes and gradient, the hand paint was a lot of fun," Louarna noted.
