GeForce RTX 4090 Tested in Microsoft Flight Simulator at 16K Resolution

The test has shown that NVIDIA's new video card is not able to run the game at max settings, and with minimum settings, it was able to provide only 8-10 FPS.

The YouTube channel zWORMz Gaming has recently published a video showing one of the first tests of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4090 at 16K resolution.

The author of the channel tested the gaming performance of the video card in Microsoft Flight Simulator – first, he tried to check how it works when the game runs at the maximum settings, however, he wasn't able to do so as the game closed due to too high load on the video card.

After the YouTuber switched to the minimum settings, he was finally able to run Microsoft Flight Simulator at 16K resolution. In this case, the video card provided 8-10 frames per second, while there was the maximum load on it, and all 24 GB of video memory was taken up. In some scenes, the framerate fell to 6 FPS.

The video also shows how Microsoft Flight Simulator runs at 8K resolution. Here, the RTX 4090 delivered an average of 29 FPS at max settings and 70 FPS using DLSS 2 in performance mode. The YouTuber pointed out that he recorded these framerates when he was flying over New York in the game and there were many objects in the scenes which is why in other locations, performance should be even higher.
