3D Artist Showcased This Appetizing Pastry Material & Shared a Breakdown

3D Artist Nikita Osmanov photoscanned each model and created a seamless flow of croissants, muffins, and other treats.

Senior 3D Environment and Prop Artist Nikita Osmanov unveiled this appetizing digital material that is eye candy for those who have a sweet tooth – a seamless flow of muffins, waffles, buns, croissants, and other pastries.

The material was created using a range of industry-standard software, which includes Unreal Engine, Substance 3D Designer, Substance 3D Painter, RealityCapture, Blender, Marmoset Toolbag, Adobe Lightroom, and Photoshop.

Nikita Osmanov explained that every model of this deliciously looking material was meticulously crafted manually by photo-scanning real-life treats and shared a video demonstrating the process:

Take a closer look at all the models that the artist has transferred to 3D:

To stack them into piles, the creator employed rigid body simulation and copied the edge parts to ensure a seamless look:

Nikita Osmanov also unveiled the details of baking and texturing:

Before, Nikita Osmanov joined 80 Level to share a breakdown of a 3D prop of Eumig Vintage Camera and discussed modeling and UVs in Blender, baking and rendering in Marmoset Toolbag, and texture creation in Substance 3D Painter.
