New Shortcuts And UI Improvements In 3D Modeler 1.9 & 1.9.5 Beta

Adobe has released Substance 3D Modeler 1.9 and 1.9.5 Beta, featuring largely UI and quality-of-life improvements, including Toolbar and keyboard shortcut changes.

Adobe has introduced Substance 3D Modeler 1.9 and 1.9.5, a public Beta version of its multisurface 3D sculpting software. Both of these are focused on quality-of-life improvements, UI changes, and bug fixes.

Note that shortcuts are changing in Substance 3D Modeler 1.9, so your usual workflow may be affected. For example, while in any other tool that Select, the Shift key now temporarily switches to the Smooth tool, and while using Select, Shift still enables angle snapping for rotations.

The new public Beta release, Substance 3D Modeler 1.9.5, also features keyboard shortcut updates and UI improvements, for example, some changes have been made to the behavior of the Field of View in the Viewport panel so that it dynamically updates the camera as it moves.

Subtools are now remembered in the Toolbar when switching tools. This only lasts for the current session and when you reopen 3D Modeler, the default tools will be displayed.

As usual, Substance 3D Modeler is available in Public beta via the Creative Cloud with an Adobe ID. With the Public beta program, you can try out experimental features and builds of Substance 3D Modeler before they reach full release.
