ASUS ROG Ally Gaming Handheld May Launch Earlier Than Expected

In early April, ASUS teased its new handheld gaming console ROG Ally. While many believed it to be an April Fools' joke, it was revealed to be a real console, and the company has even started sending pre-production models to popular tech YouTubers for their initial feedback on the device.

Earlier reports speculated that the new console would be released in October this year, however, a recent teaser from ASUS implies that the console may be launched much earlier than the predicted date.

The company announced that the handheld will go on sale worldwide on Twitter, noting that the release "may be sooner than you expect." However, it did not provide any specific dates or even a potential release timeframe.

The ASUS ROG Ally is set to be a Windows-based gaming portable PC that boasts a Zen 4 microarchitecture processor, RDNA 3 graphics, and a 7-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate. According to ASUS, the device is up to twice as powerful as the 35W Steam Deck. The price for the ROG Ally is currently unknown.
