Project Awakening Developer Says the Game Is Not Canceled

More updates are promised in the coming months.

On April 23, Cygames, the developer of the upcoming action RPG Project Awakening, finally took to Twitter and shared that the game wasn't canceled despite having zero updates since May 2022.

"Hello, our team has some important messages for you: 1. Our game has not been canceled! 2. We are working hard behind the scenes to bring you the best experience possible. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months. Thank you for your continued support!"

That's good to hear that updates are on the way in the coming months.

For those who could've missed the game, Project Awakening, an open-world action RPG, teased for the first time in 2016, is a project by the Japanese Cygames studio. Despite the release of a few engine videos and gameplay footage, the developers have been silent since 2022, leading to speculation that the game may have been canceled.

Specific details about the game are scarce, but it is being developed using Cygames' own Cyllista Game Engine and is expected to be released on PlayStation consoles, initially intended for PS4.
