Since the release of RuneScape over two decades ago, developer Fen Research is coming back with a new free-to-play MMO, Brighter Shores, which is set for release in the third quarter of this year. If you're interested in reading more about the game, you can take a look at our recent article.

The ones who got to play RuneScape know that the game's biggest problem was an unbelievable amount of bots. Well, it seems that now Andrew and Paul Gower, the creators of the game, have come up with a "legitimate" solution that not only will allow players to feel better about the bots but easily level up their characters.

"Obviously, you're never going to completely eliminate bots," Andrew Gower shared with PC Gamer in the latest interview. "So our approach has been more to make it so that they don't negatively impact the game."

As Gower added, they "designed the economy of the game so it's not gonna be broken if lots of people bot," and that "the whole way that instancing works [means] you're not gonna be standing in a chunk and there's tonnes and tonnes of bots all around you."

The developers say that by allowing players to bot, they can avoid the "grindy gameplay". So, when you're sleeping, your character may be working some night shifts, getting you some upgrades, and that won't be cheating.
