A Short Noir Film Made 100% With Blender's Grease Pencil

Ronde de Nuit, an animated short film by Julien Regnard, is now available online.

To the delight of Blender users worldwide, Julien Regnard, an experienced Animator and Film Director, has finally unveiled Ronde de Nuit, a short noir animated film created entirely with Blender's Grease Pencil tool, now available online.

Proving once again that Blender well and truly deserves the title of an industry-standard software, Ronde de Nuit (The Night Watch) premiered in 2021, produced by Autour de Minuit and Squarefish and directed by Julien.

Recognized as the first 2D-animated project utilizing a full Blender pipeline, this black-and-white masterpiece boasts a gripping narrative, striking and at times surreal visuals, and a noir atmosphere, all of which contributed to Ronde de Nuit receiving numerous awards at various film festivals.

"A couple rushes out of a glamorous party. On their way home, an argument leads to a brutal car accident. When George regains consciousness, Christina has disappeared. He will then experience a real descent into hell," reads the movie's synopsis.
