Capcom Shares Sales Update for Its Platinum Titles

Monster Hunter Rise is approaching the impressive milestone of selling 13 million copies, while Resident Evil Village has garnered sales of close to 8 million copies.

Capcom has once more revised its list of "Platinum Titles" – games that have surpassed the one million copies sales milestone. The company has now released the latest sales figures for these games, reflecting their performance as of March 31, 2023.

Some noteworthy updates include:

  • Monster Hunter: World – 18.8 million copies (200,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Monster Hunter Rise – 12.7 million copies (1 million copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Resident Evil 7 Biohazard – 12 million copies (300,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Resident Evil 2 – 11.9 million copies (700,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – 10.2 million copies (200,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Resident Evil Village – 7.9 million copies (500,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Street Fighter V – 7.2 million copies (200,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Resident Evil 3 remake – 7 million copies (600,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Devil May Cry 5 – 6.9 million copies (400,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023);
  • Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak – 5.4 million copies (500,000 copies sold during the quarter ending on March 31, 2023).

The company also provided the sales figures for the Resident Evil 4 remake saying that it has sold 3.7 million units. However, it's important to note that this figure is as of March 31 and may be slightly outdated. Capcom has already announced that Resident Evil 4 has surpassed the 4 million units mark.

Additionally, Capcom has unveiled the latest cumulative sales figures for its game series. According to the update, the Resident Evil franchise has reached a total of 142 million copies sold, with an additional 11 million copies sold since December 31, 2022.

The Monster Hunter series has achieved sales of 92 million copies, reflecting an increase of 4 million. Devil May Cry has sold a total of 29 million copies, with an additional 2 million copies sold. Finally, Dragon's Dogma has accumulated sales of 7.4 million copies, with an increase of 400 thousand copies.

As of March 2023, the sales of the Street Fighter series had reached 49 million units. However, Capcom has recently announced that the total number of copies sold has already exceeded 50 million.
