VICUBE Animation has officially introduced AgedFX, an awesome new add-on for Blender that lets you effortlessly and dynamically apply fully procedural aging effects to objects or entire scenes, making them look neglected and abandoned.
Leveraging the Principled BSDF node, the plug-in can detect all materials in your scene and make them appear aged, while you have the ability to tweak and customize the results. With AgedFX, you can apply rust and dirt effects to your projects, add scratches and bumps to surfaces, set up dynamic cobwebs by just drawing lines that then automatically connect to your objects, create animated dust particles, and add fog to your scenes.
"It works only with Blender 4.0 or newer due to the new Principled BSDF. which is needed for the plug-in to work correctly," warns the author. "Also, make sure that it has access to the materials. If you have linked assets, they must first be made local so that the materials can be manipulated.
The procedural material manipulation effects can impact your Blender viewport and render performance. This also applies to other possible atmospheric details, like fog, cobwebs, or dust particles. Too many cobwebs can have a heavy impact on the overall polycount."
