Overwatch Lead Hero Designer Has Left Blizzard

Geoff Goodman left two weeks before Overwatch 2 release.

Overwatch Lead Hero Designer Geoff Goodman has left Activision Blizzard after many years of working on the game's characters.

Goodman "made the decision to leave Blizzard earlier this year," a Blizzard spokesperson told PC Gamer. The reason behind the departure was not specified.

"We thank Geoff for his many years of service at Blizzard and wish him all the best. His ability to bring to life Overwatch’s diverse hero roster through gameplay has been incredible, and the mark he’s left on the Warcraft and Overwatch teams will be felt for years to come."

This is a significant departure following the game's Director Jeff Kaplan's decision to leave last year. Goodman left just a couple of weeks before Overwatch 2's release on October 4. The new game ditches loot boxes in favor of battle passes.
