Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Writer Asks Fans to Stop Demanding Character Deaths

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second in the trilogy of remakes, and their developers are taking a different approach to the games, making their events play out not like in the original. Maybe this is why some fans thought throwing ideas at developers would yield the desired result.

Kazushige Nojima, the lead writer on Remake and Rebirth, asked players to stop requesting character deaths; otherwise, he'd have to block or mute them on X/Twitter.

Nojima co-wrote the original Final Fantasy 7 and then worked on Final Fantasy 8, 10, and Remake, among other projects, so the games' characters are probably dear to him, and hearing that people want them to die must not be pleasant.

Final Fantasy 7 fans are a little too excited, it seems, after Square Enix promised some surprises in the remakes, but going to the developers is perhaps not a smart idea.

Better wait for Rebirth to release on February 29, 2024, in peace and enjoy the beautiful images of what's to come, especially since it's the result of the "team chemistry."
