Here's How You Create Realistic Forests With Blender's Geometry Nodes

Covingsworth showcased a neat 3D horror animation and explained how it was made.

Covingsworth, a 3D Artist specializing primarily in creating digital environments, has recently unveiled Sundown, an impressive 3D horror animation portraying an abandoned wood cabin located in the depths of a verdant and realistic-looking pine forest, which, much like forests in real life, has two sides and can look either breathtaking and spine-chilling, depending on the time of day.

"My first personal project since I started my course a year ago, feeling good," the artist noted. "I've been super into creating forests using Geometry Nodes in Blender lately, so I wanted to take advantage of the systems and make a cool cinematic animation out of it. Ended up making this scary trippy thing!"

The best part is that alongside the animation itself, the creator also shared a detailed tutorial explaining how you can leverage the power of Blender's Geometry Nodes in combination with DaVinci Resolve to set up your own realistic forests in 3D.

On top of that, the tutorial discusses such topics as wind animations, camera animations, color grading, effective planning techniques, and much more. You can watch the full guide by visiting Covingsworth's YouTube channel.
