This 3D Version of Batman's Mr. Freeze Looks Like a Real-Life Painting

The project was made by Marco Vergantini.

Marco Vergantini, a Senior Character Artist at Roarty Digital, has kicked off 2024 with a fantastic 3D portrait of one of DC Comics' most tragic supervillains. Take a look at Mr. Freeze – "Painted Normal", an impressive recreation of Batman: The Animated Series' version of Dr. Victor Fries that can easily be mistaken for a real-life painting at first glance. According to the artist, the character model was modeled and sculpted in Maya and ZBrush, textured in Substance 3D Painter, and rendered with Marmoset Toolbag.

Back in 2021, 3D Generalist Kai Müri also showcased an unusual-looking 3D take on Mr. Freeze and later joined 80 Level to share a breakdown of the experiments with watercolor renders in Blender and talk about creating a paper-looking background.
